The section of state Highway 1 between Lake Street and Doyle Drive, including
the General Douglas MacArthur Tunnel, has been re-named Veterans Boulevard for
at least 10 years.
Major cartographers have been apprised of this name and incorporated it into
their maps.

Representatives from the Planning Association for the Richmond (PAR), 25th Avenue
Residents Association, Sunset and Parkside Education and Action Committee (SPEAK),
and the Golden Gate Park Preservation Alliance have met with representatives
of the SF Recreation and Park Department (RPD) on several occasions over the
last several months to discuss the department's proposed "operation plan" for
the Outside Lands Concert in Golden Gate Park.
Topics discussed include traffic and parking, noise limits, tree and planting conservation, outreach and post-concert follow-up meetings, and public access to the concert sites before, during and after the concert.
While there will be significant benefits for the City, the RPD, and the park as well as for Richmond District businesses and residents (increased revenues from increased foot traffic and easy access to fun events), there will also be adverse impacts from this festival - increased parking, traffic and noise.
To ensure these adverse impacts are mitigated to the maximum extent possible, PAR is providing opportunities for members of the public to speak with representatives of the RPD and the concert's promoter.
Please join us at the PAR general membership meeting on Wednesday, July 15,
for more detailed information and the chance to ask questions about the event.
Everyone is welcome, whether or not you are a member of PAR. The meeting will
be held at the Richmond Recreation Center, located on 18th Avenue between California
and Clement streets, at 7 p.m.
