Domestic Violence: June 12, 12:15 a.m., 3200 Block of Balboa Street
A call came in to dispatch concerning a fight between a man and a woman. The "known" male suspect was detained and arrested on false imprisonment and battery charges.

Bad Brake: June 12, 3:43 a.m., Eighth Avenue and Fulton Street
A vehicle was stopped because one of its brake lights did not work. During a computer check, officers discovered the driver had an expired driver's license. He was cited and the vehicle was towed.

Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol: June 13, 2:49 a.m., Parker and Golden Gate Avenues
A vehicle slammed into a tree. University of San Francisco officers responding to the scene detained the male driver and used a fire extinguisher to put out a fire in the engine compartment. A witness said the driver ran a stop sign before crashing. Further investigation determined the driver had been drinking. The driver was arrested before being taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries sustained from the crash.

Driving While Holding Cell Phone: June 15, 5:38 p.m., Seventh Avenue and Geary Boulevard
A driver was stopped at a traffic light when an officer noticed the man talking on a cell phone. He was holding it in his hand and was not using a hands-free system as required by law. A computer check revealed the driver had a suspended license so he was cited and the vehicle was towed.

Attempted Auto Boost: June 17, 8:27 p.m., 19th Avenue and Balboa Street
Citizens called police when they heard a loud "bang" on the street. When they investigated, they discovered a man had broken a vehicle's window and was attempting to enter. Some witnesses, including the owner of the truck, rushed the suspect, who tried to hot-wire the vehicle. When officers arrived, the suspect had taken a combative stance, as if to fight the citizens. The suspect was arrested on multiple felony charges.

Hot Prowl: June 13, 3:50 a.m., 2800 Block of Golden Gate Avenue
A man was awakened by the sound of someone in his house. He grabbed a baseball bat and went to investigate. He startled two suspects, who fled the premises via the front door. The suspects were last seen running northbound on Arguello Boulevard. A laptop computer was reported missing.

Robbery: June 15, 11 a.m., Geary Boulevard and Wood Street
A red, two-door Mustang pulled up to a man and a woman who were walking and two suspects jumped out. One of them was holding a gun. The suspects demanded the victims' purse and wallet. The victims complied with the robbers' demands. A witness saw the suspects throw something out of the car as it was speeding away. It turned out to be the male victim's wallet. A search of the area for the suspects was unsuccessful.

Mail Fraud: June 13, 9 a.m., Richmond Station
A woman entered the Richmond Police Station to report that she had unwillingly been duped into being a part of a fraud operation. The woman answered a help wanted ad on an online bulletin board for someone looking for a "secret shopper." According to the victim, she was to receive money orders in the mail, cash them, and mail the money to another location. The victim was supposed to get $200 for each transaction she completed. The woman cashed two "Moneygrams" at her bank and forwarded the money to the perpetrator. She did this twice successfully. The third time she tried to cash a money order, a bank official notified her that the money order was fraudulent, causing her to report the incident.

Strong-arm Robbery: June 24, 1:23 a.m., 21st Avenue and Anza Street
A man was walking southbound on 21st Avenue when he heard footsteps running up behind him. He turned and saw a man with a handgun pointed at him. "Give me what you got," the suspect said. The victim turned over his wallet and the suspect fled to a waiting dark-colored, four-door sedan.

Suspicious Occurrence: June 25: 3:53 a.m., 300 Block of Cornwall Street
Calls came into dispatch concerning two vehicles on fire. The SF Fire Department responded and put out the fires. A witness said he heard voices and the sound of breaking glass and went outside to investigate. The witness saw the cars on fire and talked to a taxi driver, who said two males ran from the scene and then jumped into a get-away vehicle.

Robbery: June 24, 8:30 a.m., 3000 Block of Sacramento Street
A man was leaning on his building, five feet away from his bicycle, putting on his cycling shoes to go for a ride when the suspect suddenly ran up and grabbed the bike and started pedaling away. The victim gave chase but was unable to catch the thief in his street shoes. The male suspect was reported to be 50 to 60 years of age, wearing a grey top and black sweatpants. The bicycle was valued at $6,500.
