Aggravated Assault: July 21, 2:18 a.m., Geary Boulevard and Fifth Avenue
A business owner notified police that numerous people were refusing to leave his bar after closing hours.

Officers arrived at the scene and dispersed the occupants.

Outside, however, a brawl broke out between at least five males.

The officers witnessed one of the combatants kick a man in the head and he was arrested. The officers rendered first aid to the victim while waiting for an ambulance to arrive.

The suspect was transported to Richmond Station and booked.

Strong Arm Robbery: July 1, 10:20 p.m., 100 Block of Sixth Avenue
A woman was walking when two men, wearing masks, suddenly approached from behind. One of the suspects tried to take the victim's purse, but she would not let go.

Frustrated, one of the robbers punched the woman in the face and grabbed her cell phone.

The suspects fled eastbound on California Street.

Possession of Deadly Weapon, Marijuana Possession: July 12, 11:15 p.m., Clement Street and 34th Avenue
An officer on patrol noticed a suspicious vehicle, with two males inside, in a parking lot. When he approached the vehicle, he noticed a clear plastic bag with what appeared to be marijuana in it.

The officer called for backup before removing the occupants from the vehicle. As the officer was waiting, he noticed the driver reaching down to the driver's door compartment. Concerned for his safety, he demanded that the two suspects keep their hands in plain sight. They complied.

After backup arrived, the officer found a double-edged knife in the compartment. A more thorough search of the vehicle turned up additional suspected narcotics and a large cache of illegal fireworks.

The suspects were transported to the police station and booked.

Driving with Suspended License, Illegal Fireworks, Marijuana Possession: July 3, 2:10 a.m., Geary Boulevard and 41st Avenue
Officers conducted a traffic stop and determined the 19-year-old male driver had a suspended driver's license.

A subsequent search of the vehicle before it was towed turned up a large amount of fireworks and suspected marijuana, and several loaded magazine clips.

The man was transported to Richmond Station and booked.

False Impersonation, Burglary: July 2, Noon, 4400 Block of California Street
A man dressed as a water department employee approached the victim's home and convinced the victim that he needed to check pipes inside the home. Sometime after the victim allowed the suspect to enter the home, a second suspect entered and headed for the victim's bedroom.

As the victim and the first suspect exited the kitchen after looking at a sink, the victim saw the second suspect coming from the bedroom.

After the two suspects left the building, the victim discovered money missing from the closet in the bedroom.

Outstanding Warrant for Parole Violation, Burglary, Possession of Stolen Property: July 6, 5:51 p.m., Fulton Street and 48th Avenue
Plainclothes officers observed a man they knew to be on active parole. The suspect has a penchant for stealing from houses of worship.

When conducting a search of the suspect, they discovered a check made out to a Sunset District church.

The suspect admitted stealing the check from the collection box from a service held the previous day.

The suspect was taken into custody and booked.

Robbery: July 8, 10:55 p.m., Geary Boulevard and 38th Avenue
A woman was sitting by the doors of a Muni bus when three men stood up to exit. As they were leaving, one of them grabbed the woman's cell phone and ran off the bus.

The bus driver heard the victim call out but was unable to keep up with the suspects. The victim was not injured. An investigation is ongoing.

Robbery, Assault: July 17, 5:25 p.m., Unit Block of Heather
A man arrived home and was getting his mail from the foyer in his building when he noticed the suspect standing on the sidewalk.

The suspect said he was looking for "Dave."

After the victim allowed the suspect into the building, the suspect suddenly attacked the victim from behind, punching and knocking him to the ground. The victim's wallet was taken.

The victim was transported to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
