Battery of a Police Officer: Oct. 10, 8:23 a.m., 3300 Block of Fulton Street
A park ranger in Golden Gate Park stopped a man from breaking branches off of trees in the area of the Children's Playground. The man then got belligerent and started yelling at the ranger that he had to have somewhere to sleep.The suspect grabbed the ranger and started shaking his shoulder during the altercation.

The ranger broke free and followed the man to a bus stop at Fulton Street and 10th Avenue. When the ranger tried to apprehend the suspect, the suspect punched him in the cheek. The ranger responded by pepper-spraying the suspect.

When SF Police officers arrived, they tried to apprehend the suspect, but he kicked the officers when they approached.

"You're not going to handcuff me," the suspect yelled.

The 42-year-old suspect was handcuffed and taken to the Richmond Police Station for booking.

Malicious Mischief, Breaking Windows: Oct. 1, 3:02 p.m., 500 Block of Seventh Avenue
Tenants in an apartment building saw a man's hand reaching up as if attempting to climb in the window, which was about 8 feet above the ground. One of the tenants tried to close the window, causing the suspect to scream just before he punched out the glass in the window.

The suspect, who was shirtless and wearing jeans, was spotted at Anza Street and Ninth Avenue. He was bleeding from his forearm and had bloodshot eyes and the odor of alcohol coming from his breath.

The 19-year-old suspect was transported to St. Mary's Medical Center for medical attention before being cited.

Warrant Arrest: Oct. 9, 7:14 p.m., Golden Gate Park at Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Lincoln Way
Plainclothes police officers were looking for evidence concerning a burglary on La Playa when they discovered a suspect who was interviewed earlier drinking beer. The 52-year-old suspect was arrested without incident after it was discovered the man had an outstanding $25,000 warrant for his arrest.

Trespassing: Oct. 1, 4:06 p.m., 2800 Block of Turk Street
A university police officer said three men ran when he enquired why they were on campus. The officer took off after them but lost them when they started going through the backyards of homes near the campus.

San Francisco police officers were called to a home on Ewing Terrace by a witness who saw one of the suspects jumping over his backyard fence. When officers arrived, the suspect was apprehended while walking near Turk Street and Masonic Avenue.

The university guard positively identified the suspect, who was transported to Richmond Station and booked on a trespassing charge. The guard traced the suspect's route, but was unable to locate any evidence.

Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, Warrant Arrest: Oct. 1, 12:55 a.m., Geary Boulevard at Fourth Avenue
Police officers were sitting at the corner of Geary Boulevard and Third Avenue when they observed a car, driving at night with no headlights and without its front license plate, screech to a halt at the intersection. After conducting a traffic stop, the officers noticed that the suspect had slurred speech and bloodshot eyes. He was also driving with a suspended license and could not prove the vehicle he was driving was legally insured.

A roadside sobriety test was given, which the 25-year-old suspect failed. He volunteered for a breath test, which revealed an elevated blood-alcohol level. The suspect, who had two outstanding warrants for his arrest, was taken to the county jail and booked.

Battery: Oct. 7, 8:29 a.m., Geary Boulevard and Masonic Avenue
A man was sitting in the back of a Muni bus when the suspect approached and punched him in the mouth. The victim said he had never seen the suspect before. The victim tried to detain the suspect from leaving the bus but he managed to get outside.

With the help of a security guard, the victim and the guard held the 32-year-old suspect in a bus shelter until officers arrived. The victim signed a citizen's arrest form and the suspect was taken to Richmond Station, where he was cited and released.

Warrant Arrest, False Identification to Peace Officer: Oct. 5, 11:08 p.m., Washington and Walnut Streets
An alert neighbor called police, concerned about a man who was walking around the neighborhood, apparently casing cars to break into. The suspect would look into the vehicles and then look around nervously to see if he was spotted.

When stopped by officers, the suspect gave a false name and said he did not have a California driver's license or identification card. A check of the name the suspect gave showed a picture of a different person so the suspect was apprehended. A fingerprint check of the suspect revealed he was wanted on a no-bail felony warrant under the name of an alias.

After confirming the veracity of the warrant, the suspect was booked for lying to a peace officer and for the outstanding warrant.
