Assemblyman Leland Yee: Continuing to Serve

Life takes many unexpected turns. I studied to become a child psychologist, but as I pursued my educational career, I never thought that I would hold an elected office, nor that I would serve as a representative of the people.
I never dreamed, nor expected, that one day I would be a San Francisco supervisor. My interests and my life have become inextricably intertwined with your own, as fellow residents of San Francisco and of the Sunset.
For the last six years, it has been my honor to serve as your supervisor, first on a citywide basis and, for the past two years, specifically representing District 4 at City Hall. I have done my best to make the City and the Sunset a better place to live, work and enjoy. Children's playgrounds, pools and schools have been improved and senior services have been supported and enhanced. Access to health services, always a major concern for me, has been a priority.
The Sunset is changing, but still maintains a character which reflects the lives and efforts of the hard-working, community-oriented folk who make the Sunset their home. It is a wonderful place to live. In those early hopes and dreams.
I also never anticipated that I would be going to Sacramento as your representative in the California Assembly. I thank you most humbly for your support and I promise that I will continue to serve you to the best of my ability as a representative of the 12th Assembly District.
I have asked my present staff - RenŽe Pittin, DJ Canepa and Denis Quinn - to continue to work with me and for you, in this new endeavor. I begin this new chapter in my life with some trepidation, but also with great expectation.
